Thimbles and Threads is a well established Patchwork and Quilting store situated in Upper Hutt, New Zealand. Founded by Sharon van der Gulik in 1992, the family owned and operated business has national and world wide statis.
In 2016 Sharon's daughter Justine bought the business and moved it to 84 Main Street, Upper Hutt.
Carrying an impressive array of fabrics and quilting supplies, it is also home to the largest selection of knitting wools in the Wellington region.
Thimbles and Threads also have supplies for cross-stitch and embroidery and other crafts as well as beautifully displayed gifts for sale.
Diana, one of our staff members operates the long arm quilting machine from her home. Another service we offer.
We are the Hutt Valley agent for Bernina Machines and provide repairs and servicing of Berninas and bernettes only. The cost of a service is $145.00, with a $45.00 deposit paid when the machine is dropped off. The balance is paid when the machine is picked up.

Monday, Tuesday & Saturday 9.30am-4pm
Wednesday - Friday: 9.30am- 5pm
We have reduced trading over the Xmas/New Year period which changes each year based upon where the public holidays fall

We are open the last Sunday of the month May, June, July & August 10am-3pm
